Vintage

2006 was a year of extremes in weather.
A cooler than normal, wet spring was followed by a very long, hot summer.
The weather was nearly ideal during the growing season. Summer fell into a consistent pattern of dry weather, warm days and cool nights.
Harvest began early, with some white grapes being picked in late August.
A cool spell in mid-September slowed things down and allowed more hang time for enhanced flavor development.

Vineyards

This Riesling is sourced from our Indian Wells Vineyard, as well as vineyards predominately within the Wahluke Slope of eastern Washington.
The Wahluke Slope’s is one of the driest and warmest regions in the state, enabling grapes to fully ripen consistently vintage after vintage.
The region’s warm climate gives this Riesling its ripe, tropical style.

Winemaking

Grapes were harvested in October at the peak of flavor.
A cool fermentation was used to preserve varietal character.
This Riesling is made in a richer, fruit-driven style.
